If you wants to become Train Engin Driver then you have to follow some eligibility criteria.

You should have pass 10th with maths and science.
You should be minimum matriculate plus ITI course in specific trade.

Procedure to become train driver:

For becoming Railway train engine driver you have to apply for some competitive exam.
You will be posted as a assistances laco pilot first any goods train then on passenger train at last on express.
After some year experience you will be appointed as laco pilot.

After your 10th standard, you can do either 11th std or Diploma since the basic qualification is at least ITI or Diploma.
If you choose 11th std, then you should choose Computer science group else you might not go in Science stream. After 12th you can either go for Diploma or Engineering in any field to become Loco Pilot.
If you choose Diploma after 10th then you can complete your graduation early and you are completely eligible after your Diploma for Loco Pilot.

Always Diploma is the most suited for Loco pilot than Engineering since you can save a lot of time and start preparing for the exam at the right time

Yes diploma is ok for it. Actually to apply for Train Engine driver you need to fulfill some requirements which is given below.

>> You should complete at least Matriculation with ITI from the recognized university with minimum percentage of marks.

>> Age should be in between these limits

-- Minimum Age : 18 years

-- Maximum Age : 30 years.

>> Age relaxation allowed as per government norms.

>> To apply for this post you need to clear the " RRB Exam " which is conducted by " Indian Railways " about 17 zones.

Sir, i have been already completed my 10 std with 80%. So tell me that how can i become an engine driver? Is diploma suitable for it?
