Re: Age criteria for Engineering Service Exam 2017 Age criteria to appear in Engineering Services 2017 Examination is mentioned below :- => You must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years as on 1st January, 2017 to be eligible to appear in Engineering Service 2017 examination. => The upper age limit for Government employees is relaxed by 5 years i.e., maximum age limit is 35 years to appear in Engineering Services 2017 examination. => Upper age relaxation of 3 years for OBC category candidates and 5 years for Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe category candidates is applicable as per government norms. As per the information you have provided in your query, you belong to a OBC category and you are a Central Government employee, so, you can get OBC category relaxation of 3 years and Government employee relaxation of 5 years to appear in Engineering Services examination. Totally, you will get an upper age relaxation of 8 years (including OBC and Government employee category), that means, the maximum age limit for you to appear in Engineering Services 2017 examination is 38 years as on 1st January, 2017. As you was born on 23rd July, 1979, you will attain the age of 37 years 5 months as on 1st January, 2017, so, you are eligible to appear in Engineering Services 2017 examination. |

Re: Age criteria for Engineering Service Exam 2017 Engineering Services examination is held once every year by UPSC and the minimum eligibility required for appearing in the same examination are as following :- * You must have the nationality of India with your age lying within 21 years to 30 years till the 1st January of that year in which you are appearing in the same examination. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved category candidates as per the government norms. * You must have completed your bachelor of engineering / technology degree course from a recognized university. Students having M.Sc with Mathematics or Physics degree are also eligible. So being born on 23.07.1979 and concerned about appearing in IES 2017 examination your age will be over 37 years till the 1st January 2017 which is beyond the age limit of any category except students belonging to deaf-mute and orthopaedically handicapped category as for this the maximum age limit is 40 years. Re: Age criteria for Engineering Service Exam 2017 UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) conducts Engineering Service Exam every year. It is a combined entrance examination to recruit eligible candidates for the posts / services in Indian Engineering Services, Central Engineering Services and Telecommunication etc. The eligibility criteria for IES exam are as under :- -The candidate must be an Indian. -The candidate must have passed Bachelor's degree in Engineering(B.E./B.Tech) from a recognized university or equivalent or degree/diploma in engineering from any foreign university/college/institute recognized by govt. or must have qualified Graduate Membership Examination of the institution of electronics & telecom. -The candidate age limit should be in between 21 years to 30 years as on the 1st August of the year of the examination. There will be relaxation in upper age limit by 3 years for OBC candidate and 5 years for SC/ST candidate and 10 years for Pwd candidates. -Selection Criteria : Written examination : 1000 marks and Personal interview : 200 marks. Examination pattern The examination consists of objective as well as conventional papers. The examination will be held for 3 days for 6 papers. The duration of the examination is 2 hours and total marks for ESE 2017 examination will be 1000. 1st day- General Ability Test (Part A- General English & Part-B General Studies)- 200 marks 2nd Day- Objective paper I & II- 200 + 200 = 400 marks 3rd Day- Conventional Paper I & II- 200 + 200 = 400 marks |

Being a Government employee with OBC category you will get total upper age relaxation of 8 years. As per your given DOB you will be 38 years old. So by considering your age relaxation you will be eligible for appearing in the engineering service exam. This is your last chance to appear in the engineering service exam. |

Age criteria for Engineering Service Exam 2017 SIR, I am central govt. employee with OBC category. I am perusing AMIE in Mech. stream, which will be completed in Sep 2017. My date of birth is 23.07.1979. I will avail 3 5 = 8 years benefit for obc and govt. employee. Please advise , can I sit in Engineering service exam to be held in June 2017? |
