Re: Detailed syllabus and books for CSAT 2017 exam UPSC CSAT is a national level exam which is conducted every year. You are interested to appear this exam in next year. You are interested to know about the detailed syllabus and books for preparation. UPSC Preliminary exam consists of two papers. Each paper is of two hours duration and the maximum mark of each paper is 200. Paper I consists of questions related to General studies while paper II consists of questions related to numerical ability, reasoning and English language. The detailed syllabus of Preliminary exam and Mains exam is mentioned in the attached document. You can go through the syllabus and prepare for this exam accordingly. Following are the important books you can follow for the preparation of UPSC Civil Services Exam: >> India's Struggle for Independence by Bipan Chandra >> Indian and World Geography by Majid Hussian >>Indian Polity for Civil Services Examinations by Laxmikanth >>Indian Economy for Civil Services Examination (English) 6th Edition by Ramesh Singh **Besides these books you have to go through the NCERT books from standard 8th to 12th.
