If you had opted for Biology and Mathematics both in 10+2, then it would help you a lot in understanding concepts in Bio-Technology. That is why, some of the colleges allow only PCMB candidates to opt for Bio-Technology. |

Re: Can I pursue Biotechnology after completing 12th by taking Maths as a subject? Yes, you can pursue Biotechnology course after completion of your 12th standard with Mathematics as a subject. Candidates who have passed 12th standard with Mathematics/ Biology, Physics and Chemistry subjects from a Government recognised board are eligible to pursue Biotechnology course. After completion of your 12th standard, you can pursue B.Sc. (Biotechnology) or B.Tech (Biotechnology) based on your interest. You can get direct admission in B.Sc. (Biotechnology) course on basis of your 12th standard board examination marks in most of the college but, only some top reputed Colleges/ Universities conducts an entrance examination for offering admission in B.Sc. (Biotechnology) course. To get admission in B.Tech (Biotechnology) course, you have to appear in National or State or University level entrance examination conducted by respective authority. By qualifying the entrance examination, according to your examination rank, you will be allotted a seat in the college which you are eligible to get admission for pursuing B.Tech (Biotechnology) course. |
