No, you are not eligible to pursue the B.Tech in Computer Science stream after diploma course in civil engineering. Candidates passed diploma course in civil engineering are eligible to get admission in 3rd semester of B.Tech course only in same discipline. So, if you want to get admission in B.Tech course you are only eligible for admission in civil engineering. Candidates have to qualify in entrance examination for admission in respective colleges. |

No, you cannot join in diploma course based on the B.Tech CSE course because the eligibility required to join in diploma course is the candidate should have done their graduation in related stream. The entrance examination conducted for diploma candidates to get admission in Bachelor of Technology is called Lateral Entry and Entrance Test and Joint Entrance Examination for admission. LEET is state level entrance exam for diploma candidates through which you can get admission directly in second year of engineering in state level engineering colleges. On other hand, JEE is competitive exam for admission of diploma candidates in Indian Institute of Technology. With help of these exams, candidates can change stream in engineering. Depending upon rank, you can choose computer science engineering. |

Re: Am I eligible to apply for B.Tech CSE after completion of diploma in civil engineering? Sorry to tell you can't change to B.Tech CSE after diploma in civil engineering course. It is better you do B.Tech civil engineering only. After diploma you can directly join 2nd year B.Tech course as lateral entry. So you must appear for the entrance exam like ECET, JELET, AMIE etc. For doing engineering 1. You must complete 12th MPC course from a recognised board. 2. You can join engineering course after completing diploma in engineering also. 3. The age limit for doing engineering is 17 - 25 years. There is a lot of scope for civil engineering, the areas where you can find jobs are 1. Administrative/ Residential buildings, 2. Roads/ Highways, 3. Bridges / flyovers, 4. Irrigation, 5. Hydro Electric Projects, 6. Thermal & Nuclear Projects, 7. Metros/Railways, 8. Airports, 9. Recreational places, 10. Water distribution systems, 11. Sewers, 12. Electrical grids, 13. Telecommunications, 14. Renewable energy, 15. Water sources identification & boring (wells), 16. Purification systems for clean water, 17. Hazard waste management and so on. |

Yes after a diploma degree you can directly apply in Lateral scheme of B.tech which means that you are eligible for B.tech course directly in 2nd year. Colleges where you can do computer science engineering is >> IITs >> Anna University >> National Institute of technology >> College of Engineering (Pune) >> Motilal Nehru National Institute of technology |

No, you are not eligible to apply for B.Tech CSE after completion of your Diploma in Civil Engineering course from a recognised institution. To be eligible to pursue B.Tech CSE course, you should have passed 12th standard or an equivalent examination with PCM stream from a recognised board or three years Diploma in CSE course from a recognised institution. So, being a Diploma holder in Civil Engineering, you are eligible to pursue B.Tech Civil Engineering course but, not B.Tech CSE course. |

Am I eligible to apply for B.Tech CSE after completion of diploma in civil engineering? I have completed my diploma in my branch civil engineering. Can I do computer science engineering as my branch in B.Tech? If am not eligible what else course I can apply? Please provide me the right details on the same. Thank you! |
