Re: Am I eligible for studying MSc Physics after doing BSc Electronics?

I am also a B.Sc.,electronics student.Currently i am working in IT.but my ambition is to pursue M.Sc physics and then a doctorate in astronomy....but my mistake i took that course and now i regretting for that...I wanna catch my dreams...somebody pls guide me.Now my question is: 1.Am i eligible to do M.Sc.,physics now? 2.Is it good to do it in correspondence(IGNOU as i heard its syllabus is being prepared by IIT ppl)? 3.If I do M.Sc.,physics,am i eligible for govt exams lyk ISRO,JRF,NET etc...will they give preference to a guy who did cross major degree that too in correspondence?

Thanks in advance.

Dear friend,

I am sorry to say that you are not eligible for studying M.Sc Physics.

You can do M.Sc in Electronics only.

To take admission in M.Sc Physics the student must be B.Sc in Physics, then only he can go for M.Sc Physics.

All the best.

Hello
I am giving you details of M. Sc. (Physics) eligibility criteria:-

Bachelor's degree with Physics as a subject for at least two years/ four semesters and Mathematics for at least one year/two semesters.
If you fulfill this criteria then you can do MSc in Physics.

Physics is one of the subjects in the electronics stream. So switching to this stream should not be a problem. But the rules vary for each university. You need to get in touch with authorities concerned for admission criteria. You may be required to appear for an entrance exam too.
