12 th standard is a intermediate course which is of 2 years 11 and 12th . You have to pass 11th in previous year to do 12th in next year. Board of both the year must be same with medium of study (English/Hindi)
Admission in 12th is only given in most schools if you attain minimum 50% in 11th standard. There is currently no provision of entrance exam for intermediate

You can not directly apply for board exams of 10+2. The registration for board exams of 12th in any board is done in 11th standard. It means, first you need to get admission in 11th board and select stream and subjects in any board of India.

National Institute of Open Schooling will be the best board. However, it depends upon your choice. There is no upper age limit for this board exams.

Yes, you can do 12th standard in 2018 after completion of your 12th standard 5 years ago. To be eligible to pursue 12th standard, you have should have passed 10th standard or an equivalent examination from a Government recognised board. Some schools doesn't allow study gap of more than one or two years for offering admission in 12th standard. So, before applying for admission in 12th standard, you have to contact the school administration regarding the eligibility criteria required to apply for admission in 12th standard.

Yes, you can do 12th standard in 2018 even if you have completed 10th standard 5 years back. Candidates who have passed 10th standard in all subjects from a recognised board are eligible to pursue 12th standard. Admissions in 12th standard are done through merit basis of 10th standard board examination marks or through entrance examination conducted by the respective school/ college.
