To get job in banking sector the required minimum educational qualification is bachelor degree from a recognised university.

The age limit and discipline of bachelor degree varies with examination.

So, you can pursue the subject as according to your choice. The entrance examination for recruitment as Clerk, PO and SO ( Specialist Officer ) is conducted by IBPS and SBI.

To get notification regarding any examination visit at www.ibps.in or www.sbi.co.in.

Re: What are the courses available for a career in Banking sector?

Since you are interested in join banking sector so you do not have to worry about the course/stream which you need to pursue for your graduation degree to be eligible for joining the banking sector as joining banking sector as a bank clerk and bank probationary officer all that is required is a graduation in any stream from a recognized university.

So you can go for any bachelor degree course as per your interest to join banking sector. To have an additional option of specialist officer you need to pursue your degree course with specific subject as per the requirement of post.

As far as you are concerned about the books for preparation of bank examinations then for that you could refer to the books by Arihant Publications or Upkar Publications on the pattern of bank examinations. Further you must go through weekly and monthly magazines for the preparation of Current Affairs part.

Also for your recruitment in nationalized banks of India at above mentioned posts you need to qualify bank examinations like IBPS bank examination and SBI bank examination. Further for more details regarding these examinations you can refer to their respective official links www.ibps.in and www.sbiexam.com.
