Dear student, Both the field is play important role. but out of two i can choose only and only mechanical branch . because there are lots of scope in private as well as government sector. no dought automobile is also good branch. now talk about placement, both the field give good job. and future situation is also important, so choose rigth path........................ best of luck |

In India, the scope of Mechanical engineering is more as compared to the automobile engineering. Also, in auto mobile engineering, your study is limited only to the aerodynamics but in mechanical engineering, you study almost all the fields hence you will be eligible for almost all the PSUs for the job. Then only he can get his satisfaction and concept about that subject. So If You are interested in Auto mobile Engineering, Better to choose that branch. |

First of all let me make you accustomed with the fact that mechanical engineering is a core engineering stream. A core engineering stream is that stream in which there is plenty of application and which is generally appreciated all over the world. The other core engineering streams are:- 1)Electrical engineering 2)Civil engineering 3)Electronics and communication engineering If you are confused in mechanical and automobile then here are the guidelines to follow:- 1)If you want to study in india, then there is hardly any scope in mechanical engineering. First of all there are hardly any good colleges offering automobile engineering. Then secondly you wont get a proper job after completing your BTech. you have to do your MTech for a good job. 2)Mechanical engineering is a wider field and it also includes automobile engineering as one of the specializations. 3)There are hardly any companies in india for automobile engineers. They usually don't get the satisfactory jobs. So take my advice and go ahead with mechanical. If you are still interested in automobile then do it from abroad. best of luck!!! |

Re: Mechanical engineering or automobile engineering, which stream should i choose if I have interest in automobiles? hello friend For persuing B.tech from Maharashtra you have 3 options. 1) IITJEE: After cracking IITJEE you can persue B.tech from IIT,Bombay.This year IITJEE has already been held on 11.04.10, so you can appear for it next time. 2) MH-CET: After cracking it you get admission to any good college in MAharashtra, if you are Maharashtra domicile then you can get into one fo the best engineering college there.You has also missed the chance for appearing for it this time,so better next time. 3) AIEEE: You can find admission into any good institute in Maharashtra, after cracking AIEEE with good rank at least 50,000 state rank for getting into good engineering college.If you had not appeared for it then this time also you had missed the chance. IAS Indian Administrative Service Exam is conducted by UPSC for the post of administrative civil services of India. ELIGIBILITY: 1.You must be a graduate in any discipline. Since you are a mechanical engineer you are eligible. There isnt any minimum percentage required . 2.You must be aged between 21 and 30. 3.You must be an Indian citizen. IAS Exam has three stages Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, and an Interview. Important dates this year: 1.Date of notification: Febraury 19. 2.Last date to apply: March 21 3.Preliminary exam on: June 19. Only thing that is required is knowledge in the field. The demand for the mechanical engineers is more when compared to the automobile engineering. At the same time the seats available in college for automobile is also less. The demand for mechanical engineers is available in various companies but for automobile the demand is only from the automobile industry. But the intake of the aspirants is also at good numbers as the standard of people is getting increased. Mechanical engineers are in need in the public sector companies like ntpc, ongc etc. But they do not recruit automobile engineers. The mechanical engineers are also recruited through upsc for the Indian engineering service. But do not worry about the future of the course. If you have interest in a field then you can choose that course. The only thing you need to do is equip yourself with the needs of the industry. Then surely you will good job will handful salary |

Automobile engineering is an emerging stream now a days.. As the stream is not available in lots of technical colleges so, you will definitely have job opportunities.. Now a day lots of automobile companies are opening in India.. So,after completion of your graduation in automobile engineering you can get placed in any of those companies.. So, go for it..
