Re: What is the age limit to pass IAS for female candidates? Any relaxation for SC/OBC females?

First thing I would like to let you know that the official name of IAS ( Indian Administrative Servce ) examination is Civil Services examination and same is a common examination held by UPSC once every year for recruitment at various administrative posts like IAS, IPS, IFS,etc..

As far as you are concerned about the age limit for appearing in Civil Services examination, then it is 21 years to 32 years for general category candidates. Further there is provision of age relaxation of 3 years for OBC category candidates and 5 years for SC/ST categoy candidates. There is no special provision of age relaxation for female candidates.

For more details regarding Civil Services examination you can refer to the link www.upsc.gov.in.

There is no special entrance examination conducted for recruitment as an I.A.S Officer. For recruitment as an I.A.S Officer, you have to appear and qualify in Civil Service examination.

The examination is conducted in three stages. The eligibility to appear for examination is that candidate must have passed bachelor degree from a recognised university.

The age limit is 21-32 years for general candidates and relaxation in upper limit of 3 years and 5 years for SC/ST.

There is no special relaxation for female candidates. So, you have to qualify in all stages for final selection. For detail information about examination visit at www.upsc.gov.in.
