Re: How to become an Astrophysicist? Hello sir,Astro+Physics= Astrophysicist, Yes you guessed it right. This is the branch of astronomy related with the study of physical and chemical Properties of distant bodies(Space Bodies). To become an Astrophysicist you need to have Physics and Maths as a compulsory But Not exactly compulsory but you should persue them in order to become astro+physicist. After you 10+2 Exam If you want to go for Experimental Astronomy then you can opt for Engineering field and if you want to go for Theoretical astronomy then you can opt for Science stream. After you graduation, You should go for JEST exam i.e Joint Entrance Screening Test . Basically JEST is an Exam for Admissions for Ph.d in Physics in Different Indian Institute List of Participating Institutes for JEST Exam. jest Exam held once in a Year. After Clearing JEST you can opt for IIA or Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences or Harish-Chandra Research Institute, Allahabad etc.. |

Re: How to become an Astrophysicist? I want to do EXPERIMENTAL ASTROPHYSICS. I'm planning to do my Bachelor's (undergraduate) in India, at a TOP university, and it's going to be some sort of engineering course. I plan to specialize as an Astrophysicist in my Master's (postgraduate) in America, as M.Sc. Astrophysics. Currently, I'm in grade 10, and I'm confused on what curriculum I should join for 11th and 12th. ( SSC, ICSE, CBSE, IGCSE, IBDP, etc.) I would really appreciate it if somebody could give me advice, on what curriculum is best for getting into highest Indian Top Universities, OTHER THAN State Board (which I'm not keen on doing, because I have a very bad memory and prefer understanding and writing rather than mugging up everything.), and also what course I should take in Engineering for my Bachelors, and a very highly reputed Indian university I could apply for. I would also like to know the best universities in America (USA), to study M.Sc Astrophysics, but it's okay if you don't mention it. Re: How to become an Astrophysicist? i have completed my 12 std exams (pcmc) and i want to be an astrophysicist.after a long search through net,i found that i must go on with bsc,msc,phd in physics or related studies.but i would like to go for engineering(BE,AND THEN MASTERS,PHD).is there a chance of me becoming an astrophysicist after doing my B.E.? IF SO which course should i choose in B.E inorder to chase my dream? |
