The eligibility criteria for Admission in automobile engineering:

1. You should have studied PCM subjects in 12th from a recognized board. Boarding appearing candidates can also apply for engineering entrance exams.

Commerce stream candidates have no chance to pursue this course from a recognized university.

Re: Availability of Automobile Engineering course after passing 12th from Commerce stream?

The basic educational requirement for pursuing a technical degree course is a Class 12th passing certificate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects from a recognized board of examination.

So, having completed your Class 12th in Commerce stream you are not eligible for pursuing automobile engineering degree course as it too is a technical degree course for which the minimum education required is a Class 12th in PCM group from a recognized board of examination.

Re: Availability of Automobile Engineering course after passing 12th from Commerce stream?

First thing I would like to let you know that the basic educational qualification required for pursuing degree course in engineering i.e; B.E./B.Tech is a higher secondary school degree with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as main subjects from a recognized board of education. Students having equivalent degree are also eligible.

So it is quite evident from the above fact that being a commerce stream student you are not eligible for pursuing automobile engineering degree course as for the same you are required to have completed your Class 12th in Science stream with PCM group.

Re: Availability of Automobile Engineering course after passing 12th from Commerce stream?

No, you are not eligible to get admission for pursuing Automobile Engineering course after completion of your 12th standard with Commerce stream. To be eligible to get admission for pursuing Automobile Engineering course, you should have passed 12th standard with PCM stream or three years Diploma in Mechanical/ Automobile Engineering course from a Government recognised board/ institution. So, being a 12th standard Commerce stream student, you are not eligible to get admission for pursuing Automobile Engineering course.
