The minimum qualification required for National Eligibility test is master's degree in any stream from a recognized university. You should have at least 55% marks in master's degree to apply for NET exam. There is no upper age limit for lectureship. |

The minimum academic qualification required for NET exam: You should be post graduate passed from a recognized university. You should have at least 55% marks in master's degree. There is no upper age limit for lectureship. You can apply for NET in Botany to become Assistant Professor in it. |

You can not teach botany after NET qualification in environmental science. |

To teach botany, you should clear NET examination by opting Botany as your subject in NET exam. NET is now conducted by CBSE on behalf of UGC. There is no upper age limit for lectureship in case of NET exam. |

Candidate who has passed National Eligibility Test in Environmental Science can not become eligible for Assistant Professor in Botany. You need to clear NET exam conducted by CBSE in Botany to become eligible for Assistant Professor in Botany course. There is no upper age limit for NET exam for Lectureship. You need to have minimum of 55% marks in master's degree. |

Eligibility criteria for UGC NET Assistant Professor are:- Candidate must have secured at least 55% marks in Master's Degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognized by UGC. |

Candidate who has cleared University Grants Commission National Eligibility in Environment science can not teach or be eligible for Assistant Professor in Botany subject. You will be eligible for Assistant Professor in Environment science only. You should wait for vacancies. Once notification for recruitment is out, NET qualified candidates can apply for post of Assistant Professor. |

First thing I would like to let you know that one is required to become an assistant professor of that subject in which you have qualified UGC NET. So, having qualified UGC NET in Environmental Science you are not eligible for becoming an assistant professor of Botany as for becoming a professor of Botany you are required to qualify UGC NET in Botany. |

Since you are interested in becoming a Assistant Professor in Botany so for that you are required to have qualified UGC NET in Botany and hence having qualified UGC NET in Environmental Science you can join in any recognized college as an assistant professor in Environment Science only not as an assistant professor of Botany. |
