Re: Is a candidate considered NRI if studied till 8th in Abroad? A student can continue studies after class 8 in India. Student will be considered NRI because neither his place of birth is India, nor he had spend more than 90 days in India. Your son is considered as local student. |

The standard definition of Non-Resident Indian is a citizen of India who holds an Indian Passport and has temporarily emigrated to other countries for 180 days or more for employment, education or any other purpose. No, your son will not be considered as Non-Resident Indian as they are residing within the territory of India. |

Is a candidate considered NRI if studied till 8th in Abroad? Hello everyone, My son has studied till 8th in Abroad and from 9th to 12th in India. So, I would like to know that whether he is considered as local student or NRI student? |
