Re: Percentage required in 12th Science to join Merchant Navy? After completing XII with minimum 50% of marks in English and 60% of marks in Maths & Physics those candidates are eligible to join in Merchant Navy. Both male and female candidates are allowed to do the course. Female candidates are encouraged, they want to be unmarried at the time of course period. Age limits: 17 years is minimum and 25 years is maximum. Age relaxation to the Scheduled Castes and Tribes is maximum 5 years as per the order of Government. The Most Important is the Physical test and the disabled candidates are not eligible to do the course. Physically and Mentally wants to be fit. Eyesight must be 6/12 or 6/9 better and 6/18, Colour blindness is not eligible. Weight should be more than 42 Kg and Height must be more than 150cm. |

Re: Percentage required in 12th Science to join Merchant Navy? The minimum qualification eligibility for joining merchant navy courses is 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Different universities may have different percentage of marks required. Indian Maritime University , Chennai arranges a common entrance test. Candidates have to secure minimum 60% marks in their science stream , to be eligible to sit in the entrance test. Also, 50% marks in English is required. |

Eligibility criteria for Merchant Navy: Candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from any recognized board. Candidate age must lie between 17 to 25 years. Candidate must be an Indian. To join Merchant Navy, there is no percentage criteria. |

For joining in merchant navy there is no minimum percentage criteria but in general it will be better if you score a minimum 50 - 60% in 12th class education. The selection process is done based on the entrance exam named IMU CET (Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test) Eligibility criteria: - The educational qualification required is a 10+2 in PCM with minimum 50% from any recognised board. - The marital status should be unmarried. - The eye sight should be clear. - The candidate should not have any diseases and should be physically fit. If you meet the requirements then you can apply for the exam and qualify in it. |

Candidate must have scored at least 60% aggregate in 12th board. Candidate must have passed 12th from Science stream as well as Maths as main subject. |
