Re: Eligibility to appear in UGC-NET(Statistics) for MSc postgraduate?

There are two types of NET exam.

~~UGC NET is for Arts stream candidates and CSIR NET is for Science stream candidates.

~~M.Sc candidates should apply for CSIR NET exam.

~~Percentage of marks required in master's degree is 55%.

You can apply for CSIR NET exam subject to percentage requirement.

Master of Science candidates need to apply for Council of Scientific and Industrial Research National Eligibility Test instead of UGC NET exam.

The percentage criteria in case of CSIR NET exam remains same as it is in case of UGC NET which is minimum of 55% marks.

The upper age limit for Junior Research Fellowship is 28 years and it is not defined for Lectureship.

UGC NET is for Arts stream candidates. For Master of Science stream candidate, CSIR conducts National Eligibility Test.

>>The academic qualification for CSIR NET exam is master's degree in science with minimum of 55% marks.

>>The upper age limit for Lectureship is not defined and it is 28 years for Junior Research Fellowship.

The name of entrance examination for science stream candidates is CSIR NET examination for Lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship.

Eligibility criteria for CSIR NET:

1. You must have minimum of academic qualification like Master's degree in science with minimum of 55% marks.

If you have the minimum percentage of marks in Master's degree in science then only you can apply for CSIR NET exam. The upper age limit for JRF is 28 years.

Hello,
Yes, you are eligible to apply for the UGC NET Commerce or CSIR NET Mathematical science subject for the NET Exam.
The CSIR NET exam is conducted for five subjects that is earth science, physical science, mathematical science, chemical science and life science while UGC NET exam is conducted for more than 8 Subjects.
Both the exams are conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for assistant professor posts in the colleges, for the Ph.D., and for junior research fellowship awards.
The minimum eligibility for the UGC NET exam is post graduation degree with more than 55% marks from the recognized university.
There are no age limit criteria of the candidates for the lectureship but the age of the candidates must be below 30 years.
Also, candidates can apply for the subject in which they have completed the post graduation or its related subjects only.
Please visit the official website to know more about the UGC NET exam.

You need to have 55% in aggregate in M.Sx. However, you need to appear for CSIR NET, not UGC, as the science subjects' examination is conducted by the CSIR.
