As far as I have read and listened about the qualifications required for an ips officer, height doesn't matter ,it's about ur physical and mental strength to over come a problem. And I think yes an 5′5″ can become ips officer specially girls don't need to worry.. As its my also dream to become ips officer. |

Hello, To become an IPS officer ,you have to clear the Upsc conducted Cse examination and the exam is conducted in the following three stages : Prelim Mains Interview. Now coming to the eligibility criteria: Any citizen of India between the age of 21-30 can apply for the examination. A graduation degree from a recognised University. For IPS candidature,a minimum of 150cm is a must for women from general category and 145 for reserved categories. As you are 5 feet you are eligible for the IPS post. Good luck |

For a male candidate, 165 cm minimum, but 160 cm for ST category candidate (Not for SC and OBC) For a female candidate, 150 cm minimum and 145 cm for ST category only. |

IPS stands for Indian Police Service. IPS exam is conducted by UPSC through civil service exam. If you have completed graduation in any discipline from a recognized university then you are eligible for IPS exam. Your age should be in between 21 years to 30 years for general candidates. Age relaxation is given below - 5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates 3 years relaxation for OBC Candidates 10 years relaxation for PHC candidates 5 years relaxation for Ex-serviceman Number of Attempts:- For open category:- 4 attempts For ST/SC category:- 7 attempts Physical fitness criteria for IPS exam:- Height For Men : 165 cm(AROUND) For Women :150 cm(AROUND) OBC /SC/ST : Male:160 cm and female :145 cm Chest Male candidates-84 (+ 5cm).
