You are eligible to appear in the Probationary Officer or Specialist Officer recruitment examination conducted by IBPS/SBI etc.

The candidates after selection and having experience in banking sector are eligible to get selection as Manager in the bank.

For more information about the examination visit at www.ibps.in or www.sbi.co.in.

Candidates are not eligible for direct recruitment as Branch Manager.

You can get the desired post after few years of experience in the sector. So, you can appear for PO or SO recruitment examination.

Candidates with banking sector experience and better performance are eligible for recruitment as Manager in Public Sector banks.

There is no such examination for a fresher to become Branch Manager of any bank.
To become brach manager, one need bachelor degree with at least 5 years of experience in financial services as assistant branch manager or loan officer.
To pursue career in Banking sector, various examinations are conducted throughout the year.
IBPS(Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) conducts examination for recruitment of Probationary Officer and Clerk in various banks.
Other banks such as SBI(State Bank of India), Canara Bank, ICICI, HDFC and others also conduct their own examination for recruitment at various posts.

ICICI, HDFC, Canara Bank also offers Probationary Officer and Sales Officer program through PGDB(Post Graduate Diploma in Banking) course. In this program, candidate need to qualify a entrance examination then there will be one year of course study which include internship with the bank as well then you will be recruited directly to any of their branch.
Entrance examination for PGDB program is not as tough as compared to that of IBPS and SBI examinations.
Fee of the course will be provided to you as loan which will e deducted from your salary on regular basis as per agreement signed by candidate.
