Re: Does distance learning B.Sc. degree from Kuvempu University holds any value? Igot this response mail from my state university seeking for admission for MSc in Cybersecurity. I completed my BSC IT from Kuvempu University karnataka in 2010. Dear Biplab Kumar, Your application form for admission into MSc. Cyber Security Programme at OSOU has been rejected due to the following reason: "Degree obtained from Kuvempu University through distance education outside state jurisdiction is invalid" Please send your Bank Account details to refund your admission fee. Thanking You Odisha State Open University Sambalpur, Odisha anyone can help me on this query as it is approved by UGC how they reject this ?? |

To get recognition for a distance program in any discipline all over India, the approval of Distance Education Council is mandatory. The Kuvempu University, however is not recognized by the Distance Education Council, hence the valuation of the program is not accepted in most of the recognized universities which offers undergraduate or post graduate programs. There are many Universities which offers bachelors programs and they are recognized by the University Grant Commission as well as they are approved by the Distance Education Council.
