As far regarding the major criteria of CDS exam,it is notified that only Unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply for this exam. If at all you may have completed your BBA,and satisfy the education qualification of joining in Indian Army,as being a female you cannot apply for this exam as it is clearly restricted for females not to apply for the CDS exam. The Union Public Service Commission holds the Combined Defence Services Examination for admission to the following courses: Indian Military Academy Indian Naval Academy Air Force Academy Officers Training Academy Women can apply only in fourth category i.e. OTA. Conditions of eligibility Unmarried Women, issueless widows who have not remarried and issueless divorcees (in possession of divorce documents) who have not remarried are eligible. They should have been born not earlier than 2nd July, 1987 and not later than 1st July, 1993. You can apply after completing your BBA/ or in final year. How to apply: Candidates are required to apply online only; by using the website http://www.upsconline.nic.in Detailed instructions for filling up online applications are available on the above mentioned website. |

Re: Can I join Indian Army or appear for CDS if I am a BBA student and a female? Hi friend, You can apply for CDS examination but women are not eligible for ARMY, NAVY or AIR FORCE through CDS examination. Through CDS exam you can join in Officer's Training Academy only. |

The eligibility criteria to appear in CDS- *Graduation from affiliated university with min. Aggregate 60%, or equivalent in any stream. *Age limit-19-23 yr. On 1st july of exam year. CDS conducts by upsc twice in a year. CDS 1st in mid february and CDS 2nd in the month of september. Details on CDS 2nd- *Notification date-30/4/2011 *Last date to submit the form offline and online-30/5/2011 *Exam date-18/9/2011 for more information you can visit-www.upsc.gov.in ok, best of luck. |

Yes your are eligible to take CDSE test But you are allowed for only OTA CDSE eligibility :: For IMA :: You have born not earlier than 2nd January, 1988 and not later than 1st 1st January, 1993. You must have done graduation For NAVY : You have born not earlier than 2nd January, 1990 and not later than 1st January, 1993 You must have done graduation and you should have physics and mathematics as a subject in class 12th For AIR FORCE :: You must have done graduation and you should have physics and mathematics as a subject in class 12th You must be between 21 to 23 years to take this exam For OTA:: You have born not earlier than 2nd January, 1987 and not later than 1st January, 1993 You must have done graduation For more information:: http://www.upsc.gov.in/ |

Dear Friend Through CDS examination one can get admission in any one of Indian Military Academy Indian Air Force Academy Indian Naval Academy Officers Training Academy Female candidates are not allowed in IMA, IAF and INA. They can get only OTA. For OTA and IMA, one should have a degree in any stream from a recognized university. For INA, one should have a degree in engineering. For IAF, one should have a degree in any stream from a recognized university and Physics & Maths in 12th or degree in engineering. As you are a female BBA graduate, you can definitely apply for CDS examination but you can opt for only Officers Training Academy. visit: http://www.upsc.gov.in/ |
