For general candidates the maximum number of attempts is 4 times, For OBC candidates the maximum no.of attempts is 5 years. Indian Engineering exam is conducted by upsc every once.This exam is conducted to intake qualified engineers to different department in the government. Eligibility criteria for IES exam: Candidate should have complete graduation degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic and Telecommunication/Civil Engineering stream Age should be between 21 to 30 years. No.of Attempts: 4 attempts for General category candidates 7 attempts for OBC category candidates unlimited attempts for sc/st category candidates. |

Re: Maximum no. of attempts allowed for IES examination? hello, union public service commission conducts the exam for IES for which the eligibility criteria is; qualification - a candidate should be engineering graduate from any recognized university in the following stream -Electrical Engineering -Electronics & Communications Engineering -Civil Engineering -Mechanical Engineering -or equivalent degree from recognized universities. -M.Sc. degree or equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject is also acceptable for certain posts -a candidate as an appearing can also apply for the exam age limit -a candidate's age should be between 21-30 for general -for OBC upper age limit is 33 years -for SC/ST candidate upper age limit is 35 years number of attempts -for general-4 attempts -for OBC- 7 attempts -for SC/ST- no limits for further details you can visit the link www.upsc.gov.in |

IES examination is conducted by UPSC every years. the age limit for this exam is 21-30. there are 5 years of relaxation are given to SC\ST CANDIDATES . every candidate of GEN category to clear the examination in maximum 4 attempts. For OBC category the maximum attempt no. has been relaxed to 5 and for SC/ST/PD candidates there is no restriction on no. of attempts to pass the examination. |

Re: Maximum no. of attempts allowed for IES examination? dear friend , the minimum requirement to appear in the ies exam is that , candidate must have to be graduate student in any of the engineering branches like civil , mechanical , electrical , electronics. the general category candidates are allowed to attempt this exam for four times while obc category candidates are allowed for 7 times and there is no restriction for the sc/st category candidates on the number of attempts. thanks and best luck |

Indian Engineering Services exam (IES) is a premier competitive examination conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) for selecting engineers for Government of India's engineering organizations, such as Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE), Central Engineering Service (CES), Millitary Engineering Service etc. The examination is conducted once in every year mostly in the month of June/July.
