Yes, Mathematics is compulsory in 10+2 if you wish to apply for IIT JAM Chemistry and then pursuing M.Sc. Chemistry course in future.

You must have studied Mathematics subject in 10+2 to be eligible for IIT JAM Chemistry exam. Also, you should have studied Chemistry for three years/six semesters in graduation course.

IITs like IITB, IITD, IITG, IITGN, IITH, IITI, IITJ, IITK, IITM, IITP, IITR, IITRPR offer this post graduation course.

IIT JAM is a entrance examination for taking addmission in IITs and IISCs in M.sc course. This examination is conducted for five subjects Physical Science/ Mathematics / Chemistry/ Biology/ Geology.
=>>Eligibility Criteria for IIT JAM :
1. For which subject candidates want to appear, they must have a B.sc degree in that particular subject.
2. Candidates must have scored 55% in B.sc .Even final year candidates are eligible.
Now if have a B.sc degree in Chemistry with 55% , you are eligible. It does not matter what you have study in your intermediate.
