Procedure to become an Indian Foreign Service Officer:-
Eligibility criteria:-
Educational qualification:-
The candidate should hold a degree from any of the recognised universities or must have an equivalent qualification.
Age limit:-
Minimum age 21 years and maximum age 30 years.
Relaxable is limit is as follows:-
5 years for SC/ ST candidates
3 years for OBC candidates
5 years for candidate from the State of Jammu and Kashmir
5 years for defence service personnel
5 years for ex servicemen
10 years for blind , deaf, handicapped person.
Number of attempts:-
General category - 7 attempts
SC / ST candidate - No restriction
Other backward class candidates - 9 attempts.

You can become IFS officer after qualifying in all stages of Civil Service Examination.

Examination is conducted by UPSC for final selection. Examination will be conducted in three stages.

Candidates passed bachelor degree in eligible are eligible to appear in the examination. The age limit is 21-32 years with relaxation for reserved category.

To be an IFS (Indian Foreign Service) officer, you are required to qualify the Civil Services examination held by UPSC once every year.

Also, the minimum qualifications required to appear in the Civil Services examination are as below:-

* You must be an Indian citizen.

* Your age must lie within 21 years to 32 years. Age relaxation is allowed in case of candidates from reserved category as per the service requirements norms.

* You must have completed your bachelor's degree course in any discipline from a recognised university.

So, having complete your Bachelor of Arts in English course, you just need to qualify the Civil Services examination in order to be an IFS officer.

How can we become an Indian Foreign Service Officer?

Hi, I'm a BA English student. I want to become an Indian Foreign Service Officer. What should I do for it? Should I do any further course or is there any entrance which I need to write for IFS Officer?
