Re: Which course to study for becoming an Airplane Pilot?

For become Public Pilot or Commercial Pilot in Aviation industry, you need to take admission in Commercial Pilot Training institute.

For taking admission there, you should have scored at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognized Board.

There is no need to pursue Aeronautical Engineering but if you are pursuing it then it would be fruitful to you for understanding Aviation industry concepts and devices.

You need to qualify entrance test for qualifying entrance exam that is conducted before taking admission to Commercial Pilot Training institute that will contain following sections.
  • Written Exam (contains General Knowledge, Maths, English)
  • Interview
  • Mental Balance, Situation Handling, Medical Test

Some of the Commercial Pilot training institutes, I have listed below:
  • Government Aviation Training Institute, Bhubaneswar
  • Ahmedabad Aviation and Aeronautics, Ahmedabad
  • Government Flying Training School, Bangalore
  • Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi, Bareilly
  • West Bengal Flying Training Institute, Kolkata
  • Coimbatore Flying Club, Coimbatore
  • Indian Aviation Academy, Mumbai
  • Co-operative Flying Club Ltd, Jamshedpur
  • All India Institute of Aeronautics, (AIIA), Dehradun
  • Rajiv Gandhi Aviation Academy, Secunderabad
Pilot training course is a 18-months course which costs around 12 lakhs INR.

To be an airplane pilot, the candidate should have completed 10 + 2 with physics, chemistry, mathematics and English as main subject from a recognised board.

After that you have to pursue a bachelor degree in Aircraft operations, aviation, aeronautical engineering.

In addition to this you will complete up to 2 months of ground training and need more than 1500 hours of flight experience.

Which course to study for becoming an Airplane Pilot?

I want to be a Public Pilot. And I have passed HSLC examination and now I am studying in HS 1st year in the stream Science in Sivsagar Junior College. So, after completing my Intermediate which course can I do and from where to become an Airplane Pilot? Do I need to do B.Tech or BE in Aeronautical Engineering or is there any other specialized courses available for Pilot training course?
