No such candidate who has passed National Eligibility test in Population Studies is eligible to become Assistant Professor in Mathematics.

If a candidate wants to become Assistant Professor of Mathematics then he needs to clear NET examination in Mathematics, no other stream allowed.

*The eligibility criteria for Assistant Professor Job in Mathematics is to clear National Eligibility Test in Mathematics and not in other subjects. NET qualified candidates in Population studies can not become eligible for Assistant Professor in Mathematics.

*The criteria for NET exam is master's degree with minimum of 55% marks in master's degree and not less than that.

Eligibility Criteria for the same is :

* Masters degree in the respective subject from a recognized university.

* 23 years of age at least.

* Valid NET mark sheet.

If you have the above eligibility, you can be at the post you want to be.

You will be eligible only after completing Master degree with at least 50% aggregate from a recognized university.
After that you need to write NET entrance test and after qualifying entrance test you will be eligible to be appointed for the post of Professor or Assistant professor.

The eligibility criteria for Assistant Professor in Mathematics are as below:

Academic qualification: Master's degree in mathematics from a recognized university.

Minimum percentage of marks required in master's degree is 55%.

M.Sc in Mathematics should qualify NET exam and clear interview for final selection as Assistant professor of Mathematics.

NET passed candidate in Population studies are not eligible for Assistant Professor in Mathematics.

Candidates who have passed National Eligibility Test in Population studies can not become Assistant Professor in pure Mathematics in any recognized college of India.

Master of Science candidates in Mathematics after qualifying NET exam can become Assistant Professor in Mathematics.

Can a candidate in master degree in maths but passed net passed in population studies be made eligible for the assistant professor in pure mathematical science in recognized college? Can someone get back to me on this? Please reply.
