In the interview, eligibility required for the candidate's post, his/ her personality, his/her study of socialand national issues, awareness regarding events occuring aroundhim / her, capacity to take decisions, presents of mind are the factors considered. Marks allotted for the interview are 200. The final merit list is declared after considering the candidate's marks in the mainexam and interview. Dear friend, The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) conducts state civil services examinations to recruit officers in the state services. The notification regarding this examination appears in leading newspapers and the website of the Commission i.e. www.mpsc.gov.in. The examination is conducted in following three stages: i) Preliminary Examination ii) Main/ Written Examination iii) Interview/ Personality Test As information called for, in Preliminary Examination one question paper of 200 marks known as General Ability Test is set. The candidates have to solve 200 multiple choice type questions within two hours. Questions are set in English and Marathi medium. The break-up of the marks of this question paper is given below. Arts / Social Sciences 30 marks Intelligence Test 50 marks Current Affairs 30 marks Science and Technology 30 marks Commerce and Economics 30 marks Agriculture 30 marks Total 200 marks The Preliminary Examination is conducted at most of the district places in Maharashtra. After the result of the Preliminary Examination is declared, the successful candidates are called to appear for Main Examination. Re: How many subjects are there for MPSC Prelim exam? Dear aspirant, MPSC is a state civil service examniation ( Maharashtra Public Service Commission) for recruiting officers for state services. ELIGIBILITY: Graduate in any discipline from a recognised university. Age should be 21 to 30 years if you are general category . There is age relaxation available for SC/ST, OBC and physically handicapped. PRELIMINARY EXAM PATTERN: There will be a 200 marks objective type paper of 2 hours duration. The questions will be asked in English and Marathi languages. The exam is held at many places in Maharashtra. The questions paper has following subjects : * Arts / Social Sciences = 30 marks * Intelligence Test = 50 marks * Current Affairs = 30 marks * Science and Technology = 30 marks * Commerce and Economics = 30 marks * Agriculture = 30 marks In total the preliminary exam is of 200 marks . The marks in preliminary exams is not counted in final selection . Preliminary exam is conducted to test the aptitude of candidate . Only successful candidates proceed to the mains exam.
