Re: Are female candidates eligible to join Indian Military Academy IMA? CDS stands for Combined Defense Services and to join the same you need to qualify CDS entrance examination which is held twice every year by UPSC in two stages which includes Written Examination followed by SSB interview. CDS has four wings which includes Naval Academy ( NA ), Air force Academy ( AFA ), Indian Military Academy ( IMA ) and Officer's Training Academy ( OTA ). Eligibility criteria required to apply for this examination is Candidate must have passed Bachelor's Degree from a recognised university. Final year candidates are also eligible to apply for this examination. Candidate age must lie between 19 to 24 years for IMA. So, yes you are eligible to join Indian Military Academy being a female B.Com Honours graduate candidate. |

IMA stands for Indian Military Academy and it is one of the four wings of CDS (Combined Defense Services) for joining which one is required to qualify CDS entrance examination held twice every year by UPSC. Now, as far as you are concerned about the possibility of joining IMA being a female candidate then it is not possible as female candidates are onle eligible to join OTA (Officer's Training Academy) wing of CDS while the other three wings are only eligible for male candidates. It is conducted for recruitment in IAF, INA, IMA and OTA. Girls candidate are eligible for OTA only. There will be no relaxation or reservation for female candidates.
