Hi Arunaarya, As far of your question is concerned, You cannot take admission in regular B.Sc hons. in Computer Science in any colleges affiliated to Delhi University because there is eligibility criteria for this- An aggregate of 60% or more marks in English, Mathematics Additional Eligibility criteria is that you must have 60% or more marks in Mathematics. Mathematics is compulsory for B.Sc Computer Science. Eligibility criteria for B.Sc (Hons.) Computer Science and all subject combination are acceptable for B.Sc Computer Science as follows- 60% or more marks in Mathematics and An aggregate of 60% or more marks in English, Mathematics and best of the two subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science/Informatics Practices OR An aggregate of 60% or more marks in English, Mathematics and two subjects (other than Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science/Informatics Practices) Because in B.Sc(Hons.)Computer science you will study about mathematics- first year of the course lays emphasis on building the candidate’s foundation in computer science in areas such as programming, algorithms, and Mathematics and to build a firm foundation in Mathematics, besides including modules on electronics and humanities. Admission in most of its undergraduate course is conducted on the merit basis. Admission in B.Sc Computer Science is also offered on the merit basis. The eligibility to get admission in the course is that candidate must have passed 12th in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main paper. So, you are not eligible to get admission in the course without mathematics as main paper in std 12th. |

It is compulsory to have Mathematics as main paper in std 12th to get admission in bachelor degree in computer science. The eligibility to get admission in the B.Sc Computer Science course is that candidate must have passed 12th in PCM as main paper. Admission in the course is on the basis of merit based. Is Mathematics compulsory for admission in B.Sc Computer Science under Delhi University's curriculum As per Delhi University guidelines, to study BSc (Hons) Computer Science, an applicant should have had Mathematics and Computer Science in their plus-two course. Though it is not necessary to add the subjects in the best-of-four calculation, scoring at least 60 per cent or more in Mathematics is mandatory. |

Yes, Mathematics at Class 12th level is must for pursuing B.Sc. degree in Computer Science in any college of University of Delhi. Further, for pursuing B.Sc. (Hons.) Computer Science degree course, a candidate is required to have completed his/her Class 12th in Science stream with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Computer Science /Informatics Science as main subjects with at least 60% marks in Mathematics paper from a recognised board of education.
