# In order to become Medical Officer, candidate must have MBBS degree with one year compulsory internship.

# Candidate also apply for the posts of medical officer in their concerned State.

# Candidates have also the option to apply for the posts of Medical Officer through "Combined Medical Service Examination" conducted by UPSC every year.

# Age limit fixed for Combined Medical Service Examination is:

* 21-32 years for General category
* 21-35 years for OBC category
* 21-37 years for SC and ST category

# Examination pattern of above mentioned examination is as follow:

* Written Objective Type Test
* Personal Interview
* Document Verification

UPSC conducts Combined Medical Service Examination.

The eligibility criteria required to apply for Medical Officer are following:-

-The candidate must be a citizen of India.

-The candidate must have completed Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in MBBS.

-The candidate age limit to apply for the post is from 21 years to 32 years.

-The candidate should be physically fit as per the norms of the exam.

-The selection procedure consists of written test followed by personal interview.
