CDS stands for Combined Defense Services and it is basically an academy meant for providing necessary training to those who manage to clear CDS entrance examination and looking to be a defense officer. CDS has four wings which includes Naval Academy ( NA ), Air force Academy ( AFA ), Indian Military Academy ( IMA ) and Officers Training Academy ( OTA ). --> To be eligible for appearing in the CDS examination for joining OTA wings are as here under :- * You must be an Indian resident with your age lying within 19 years to 25 years. * You must be a graduation degree course with any discipline from a recognized university. * You must be physically and mentally fit as per the service requirement norms. As you yourself has mentioned that the official website says that one must be not born before 2nd 1991 to be eligible for appearing in the CDS 2016 for OTA wing so being born on 22/11/1990 you are not eligible for appearing in the same as there is no provision of age relaxation for any category. For more details and updates about the same examination you can log on to the official link of UPSC i.e; www.upsc.gov.in or www.upscexam.com. |

Eligibility - You must have passed bachelor's degree from a recognized university - Your age must be between 19-25 years on the 1st January or 1st July of the examination year Syllabus General Knowledge (100 Marks) Questions are based on current topics, science, history of India, geography, etc. English (100 Marks) This paper tests candidates' knowledge in the English language Important Dates CDS I - Starts of Registration : 07/11/2015 - Last Date to Apply : 04/12/2015 - Date Of Exam : 14/02/2016 CDS II - Starts of Registration : 16/07/2016 - Last Date to Apply : 12/08/2016 - Date Of Exam : 23/10/2016 |

Re: Am I eligible for CDS 2016 OTA category if going to be 25 years old? No, you are not eligible to appear for CDS examination now. As you have crossed your maximum age limit of CDS examination. CDS examination is conducted by UPSC twice every year. The maximum age limit is 25 years. So, now you are not eligible to appear for examination. Re: Am I eligible for CDS 2016 OTA category if going to be 25 years old? No, you are not eligible for CDS 2016 Officer's Training Academy examination if you have attained the age of 25 years. The age limit to appear in CDS OTA examination is 19-25 years. That means, the candidate must have not attained the age of 25 years to be eligible to appear in CDS 2016 OTA examination. To be eligible to appear in CDS 2016 examination, the candidate must have not born earlier than 2nd January,1992 not later than 1st January, 1998 as per UPSC CDS examination notification. Since, you have born in the year 1990, you are not eligible to appear in CDS OTA 2016 examination. |

Am I eligible for CDS 2016 OTA category if going to be 25 years old? Sir my dob is 22/11/90 .. AM i eligible for the cds 2016 OTA category?? Becoz there it is mentioned age should be 19-25 and am going to be 25 in couple of days but sir in recruitment it is written that candidate should not be earlier from 2 jan 1991.. So plz tell me am i abe to give exam or not? |
