Eligibility for Merchant Navy are:- *The eligibility for joining merchant navy is finishing class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. *Candidates have to be unmarried Indian citizens (male or female). *Normal vision is required but glasses up to plus or minus 2.5 may be allowed. *Admission is through an entrance followed by a screening test and a main written examination. *After clearing the test, there is an interviewand a medicaltest. *You also need to complete a ship-training course prior to the employment. The course is generally short-term where the candidates are taught basic security concerns of voyaging. >>As you are Arts student, You can't appear for the exam, But you may appear again in PCM exam for your 12th and then move to pursue your career in Merchant Navy. |

Merchant Navy personnel are the commercial fleet of nn-combatant sheep which deals with transportation of passengers and goods and other things. Students can join Merchant Navy after 10th, 12th or B.Tech. After 10th, students can join as seafarer after completing sea courses. After 12th, students can join as officer through various degree program mainly in Deck/Nautical or Marine engineering. After B.Tech, students can join Merchant Navy as Engineer Officer. AIMNET is the entrance examination conducted generally in the month of November-December for admission in the courses in Merchant Navy after 12th. AIMNET stands for All India Merchant Navy Entrance Test. It is conducted by Bharat Shipping Limited. The courses offered are -B.Tech Naval Architecure and Ship Building -B.Tech Marine Engineering -B.Sc in Nautical Science For all these courses, students need to have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 12th. Only for pre-sea training, the candidate who have passed 10th or ITI course from AICTE recognized institute can apply. So, arts student can only apply for pre-sea training course on the basis of 10th marks sheet only. |
