They have standard required to join IAF technical is that minimum visual Acuity 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 on other... The military doesn't just accept anyone who wants to join, there are various standards, which desirous candidate has to qualify... |

For becoming a Commando in Indian Air Force, the eye sight requirement for the post of officer in Indian army is mentioned below:- • Uncorrected without glass – 6/12. • Corrected with glass – 6/6. For women candidates the minimum acceptable visual acuity are:- Distant vision (corrected)better eye 6/6 worse 6/18, Myopia of not more than minus 5.5 including Astogination. |

VISUAL STANDARDS FOR INDIAN AIR FORCE: One must have 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in the other, which can be correctable to 6/6 only for hypermetropia. Near Vision must be N-5 for each eye. |
