Re: Can I pursue diploma in mechanical engineering after 12th arts? You are not eligible to get the advantage of pursuing 10+2 in duration of the course as not eligible for lateral entry in diploma course. The eligibility to pursue the course is that candidate must have passed 10th from a recognised board. Candidates passed 10+2 with science stream are eligible for lateral entry. |

Re: Can I pursue diploma in mechanical engineering after 12th arts? After passing class 12th from Arts you can not study diploma in mechanical engineering. To pursue an engineering course you need to have Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in 10+2 from a recognized board. Arts and Engineering study is altogether different and engineering is only for students who are from science background. |

An Arts Student is eligible to pursue a part-time or Distance Learning Diploma course in Engineering if he / she fulfills the following conditions. 1) The student should pass his high school successfully. 2) In 10th class student should get at least 50% marks in both Mathematics and Science. |

You are not eligible to get admission in diploma course on the basis of 12th qualification but eligible for admission in three year course on the basis of 10th qualification. Admission procedure varies with institutions. So, you can visit the official website to get detail information about the admission procedure. |

Eligibility Criteria for Diploma in Mechanical Engineering:- A pass in 10th standard are eligible to apply for diploma in mechanical engineering course. The qualification must be obtained with a minimum of 50% marks. Some reputed Colleges/ Universities conduct their own entrance exam. Age limit is between 18 to 25 years. |

Re: Can I pursue diploma in mechanical engineering after 12th arts? Forget about Mechanical Engineering you can not apply for any Engineering course having completed 12th standard in Arts stream. Its not just arts students but commerce students also can not apply for the Engineering course. |

Only those students who have completed their 10th and 12th with science stream with atleast 60% marks from a recognised stream are eligible for mechanical engineering course. They must have completed 12th with subjects like physics, chemistry and maths. Those who have completed 12th with arts are not eligible for the course. |
