WBCS refers to West Bengal Civil Services and to appear in the same examination, the minimum education required is a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised open or regular university.

So, having completed your degree course from Himalayan Open University which is a UGC approved open university, you are eligible to apply for WBSC examination as far as the educational requirement for the same is concerned.

For more details regarding the same examination, you can refer to the link www.pscwbonline.gov.in.

The full form of WBCS is West Bengal Civil Services examination.

The eligibility criteria for WBCS examination:

1. You must have done bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university. If your open university is recognized then there is no issue in validity of degree for WBCS.

2. The age limit for this exam is 21-32 years.

3. Upper age relaxation applicable to candidates of reserved category.

Does WBCS accepts graduation from open universities?

I am a student of Himalayan Open University. So after completing my degree course from this open university can I take WBCS exam without any allegations? Or there is no opportunity for the students of Himalayan Open University to take WBCS exam?
