Re: Question paper pattern of GATE Maths Exam? Question paper pattern of engg. maths There will 12 question carrying 20 marks in XE maths section of engg. Question number 1 to 4 carry one mark each and 1/3 marks will be deduced for each wrong answer. Question number 5 to 12 will carry 2 marks and 2/3 will be deduced for each wrong answer. For better understaning i am here attaching the sample paper of maths papers. |

Exam Pattern for Mathematic in GATE -->Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering is conducted Every year for ME/M.Tech in IIT Institute -->GATE paper Basically Consists of *Mathematics -30% *Technical -55% *Aptitude and General English -15% Mathematics Section --> 15% One Mark Question and 15% Two Mark Question -->Topic Comes under Mathematic are Linear Algebra ,Calculus ,Differential Equation,Complex Variable, Numerical Method and Transfer Theory -->Formula and Theorem are most important to crack the Mathematic Section, Question will be very Technical -->Go through more Previous year Question Paper All the Best |

Gate Overview For Mathematics Paper Gate i.e Graduate Aptitude Test In Engineering consits of Single paper of 3 hrs, which Consists of 60 Questions(of100 marks). This is of Multiple Answer type Questions. Each question is having 4 Answer, for which only One answer will be correct. And there will be negative marking for wrong Answers.In mathematics Exam of Gate, the Following are the Major Topics from Syllabus point of view from which Questions do come. They are Linear Algebra,Complex Analysis,Real Analysis,Ordinary Differential Equations,Algebra,Functional Analysis, Numerical Analysis,Partial Differential Equations, Mechanics, Topology, Probability and Statistics, Linear programming & Calculus of variation and Integral Equations . |

Re: Question paper pattern of GATE Maths Exam? Syllabus for math in gate exam are- Linear Algebra: Matrix Algebra, Systems of linear equations, Eigen values and eigen vectors. Calculus: Mean value theorems, Theorems of integral calculus, Evaluation of definite and improper integrals, Partial Derivatives, Maxima and minima, Multiple integrals, Fourier series. Vector identities, Directional derivatives, Line, Surface and Volume integrals, Stokes, Gauss and Green's theorems. Differential equations: First order equation (linear and nonlinear), Higher order linear differential equations with constant coefficients, Method of variation of parameters, Cauchy's and Euler's equations, Initial and boundary value problems, Partial Differential Equations and variable separable method. Complex variables: Analytic functions, Cauchy's integral theorem and integral formula, Taylor's and Laurent' series, Residue theorem, solution integrals. Probability and Statistics: Sampling theorems, Conditional probability, Mean, median, mode and standard deviation, Random variables, Discrete and continuous distributions, Poisson, Normal and Binomial distribution, Correlation and regression analysis. Numerical Methods: Solutions of non-linear algebraic equations, single and multi-step methods for differential equations. Transform Theory: Fourier transform, Laplace transform, Z-transform. Every year there are atleast 4 questions containing minimum of 6 marks come from the above mentioned topic. |
