Educational qualifications: Degree of a recognized university or an equivalent qualification Physical standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to the regulations given in the appendix-III of rules for the civil services examination, 2011 published in the gazette of India extraordinary dated 19th February, 2011 Number of attempts: The maximum number of attempts permissible to different categories of aspirants, who are otherwise eligible, will be as follows General category (04); P.H. candidates belonging to general category (07); OBC (07); SC/ST/ (no limit). Re: Is it possible to give both IFS and IAS in 1 day? It is not possible to appear for IAS and IPS exam on the same day. They are two different exams conducted on two different days. The IAS exam will be conducted on 12th June 2011 whereas the IFS exam will be conducted on 9th July 2011. Hello friend, Examination for recruitment of candidates in Indian Administrative Service as well as Indian Foreign Service are conducted under one category known as civil service examination. Therefore, for both the services, you will be writing the same examination, conducted by union public service commission. The civil service exam comprises three stages Civil service aptitude test Main exam Interview To get selected for any of these services, you have to be among top rank holders.
