Re: Want to get lateral entry in b.tech 2nd year Dear pal, yes it is possible for a diploma degree holder to get into the second year of bachelor degree in engineering directly. The nature of admission depends on the policy that the state government has adopted. In certain states like Tamil nadu aspirants are admitted based on the marks secured in the diploma course. In certain states they are admitted based on the entrance exam conducted by them. But there is no national level exam by which aspirants are admitted directly to the second year. The only problem in it is the number of seats available is very much limited and so you will not be able to get good college if you have scored less. But if you wish to get into good college then you can apply for aieee or iit jee exam and get into first year and proceed your career. |

By these exams you will be selected for the lateral entry admission ,directly in the second year or the 3rd semester... So first of all try to study hard and try to crack the examination .All the best.. |

You can choose any subject,but as you are a student of ECE,then select ECE. otherwise you can take admission in another colleges through WBJEE,IIT-JEE,AIEEE exams Good luck. |

As you have done your diploma from WB I don't think you to be an orissa domicile. Anyways, you can have the chance of getting admission in any private college in there through lateral entry ie direct admission to the 2nd year of B. tech. |

The elligibility criteria is that, you must pass your all papper till 1st year. otherwise you can not change the college.ok..... |
