Sarkar, have done BCA from WBUT and pursuing an MCA from Sikkim Manipal University and working as a contractual teacher in a High School, i want go for a Ph.D degree. and i do not want to left my job at this moment, is it possible go for the degree, if yes what kind of University would be best. |

I like mathematics very much and i'm good in computer science too. now i'm working in a software company and want to study further. could you please suggest me what course can i study? and also please give ideas whether can i use distance learning program for good further study. Re: Ph.D in math or computer science after MCA? I think you have to look for Job now. You have a master degree now and you are eligible for applying jobs in Software companies. You can look for INFOSYS,WIPRO,TATA,TECH MEHNDRA,PATNI and others. IF you want to further study then you can use distance learning program.. |

You have to contact the concerned university department for further details. First class MCA students are eligible for applying for Ph.D Programs in these universities. Dear Friend: Good to see your urge to do Ph.D. Most of the MCA look for the job rather going for the Ph.D. I do feel you should go for M.Tech first then persue for the M.Tech first then go for the Ph.D. why i am saying it you is all because the M.Tech. will give you a perfect platform for the research aptitude. Secondly the Dissertation in final semester will give you a defitine base for the synopsis or the initial guidance for the selection of the Ph.D. topic. There is an entrance test that most likely to be a part of all the universities. you have to make preparation for that. followed by personal interview at some universities and then the six month course work. after finishing the course work there will an exam. When successful the topic presentation process will start. So its a long term preparation which needs patience, commitment and enthusiam. Re: Ph.D in math or computer science after MCA? surely,cs is your subject,hence it should be more better to do,it will be effective through your mca knowledge. the field of computers and imformation theory are fast evolving.the essence is that you need to have a grasp over the streams you choose,whether cs or maths. |

Re: Ph.D in math or computer science after MCA? But after MCA you go for Industrial Job because this experience is valuable. There are lots of job in bank sector as an IT officer. There are also job in defense like in Army, Air force and Navy. |
