Dear sir, as i have given my ssc (10th) exams i am totally confused what to do...... some of my relatives who really care for me want me to go for diploma and get sit in mechanical engineering in future......but incase i do diploma and go for mechanical i can go out of India in that qualification........because the thing is that i don't want to stay in Goa for more then 3 years.........or the thing that i have to go for 12th n then aieee and then go out of India......nand i m also interested in diploma............. so plz sir rpl me within a day.................. |

Hi dear, This is mostly selected path by many students after completing their 10th. This path got this popularity due to its many benefits like the following. ->Directly doing Intermediate opens the gates for Engineering but its very tough to crack the entrance examinations like JEE and AIEEE due to heavy competition,for this reason only most of the students are very intelligently planning their path. ->One more important thing is the competition lateral entrance test like E-CET are having very low competition and easy to get a good rank. ->Most toughly said one thing due to polytechnic course the students theoritical and practical skills will be improved very brightly for this reason also 10th completed students are opting Polytechnic entrnace For doing polytechnic diploma in desired course one has to first prepare for polytechnic entrance conducted in April-May and more over he has to secure a good rank in this too. then only the desired percentage can be achievable for B.Tech Lateral entry. So selecting a good govt polytechnic college is also a very important thing to do. After completing polytechnic diploma you have to clear the lateral entry entrance examination then only you are eligible for the admission into 2nd year. Coming to IIT's No there is no chance to get into IIT's through lateral entry scheme Thanks |

diploma is a very good course but only if done from a good college. the advantage of doing diploma is that the student get admission into the second year of b.tech directly. this is called lateral entry. but in iit and nit colleges, there is no lateral entry. if a diploma student want to take admission in iit on nit college, then hi/she will have to take admission in first year only and that too by giving the iit jee or aieee exam. in this way, one year of a diploma student is wasted. but if a student completes 12th class and then give the entrance exams of iit jee or aieee, then no wastage of year is there. only this is the disadvantage of doing diploma. otherwise diploma is the best for getting a good job. |

If you crack the entrance exam then you will get a chance to take admission in IIT's. All the best.. |
