Yeah sure you can .

ELIGIBILITY FOR IES ::


1. A candidate should be a graduate in Engineering or Architecture from a recognized university.
2. Age limits should be 21-30 years for GEN, 21-33 years for OBC, and 21-35 years for SC/ST candidates.

Since you are a Mechanical Engineering graduate , you can surely apply for the IES exam after you are done with the B.Tech.

I am attaching a syllabus for the IES exam for Mechanical Branch for your reference.

as you know there have no option for Instrumentation Engineering student.

IES is eligible for given below department of engineering.

1.Civil Engineering
2.Electrical Engineering
3.Mechanical engineering.
4.Electronics and Communication Engineering.

your department is mechanical so you are eligible for IES exam.

dear friend,
As you have mentioned that you have complete your B.tech in Mechanical engineering then yes , you are eligible for IES exam..
IES exam is a civil service exam and it is conducted by UPSC..

The eligibility criteria for IES exam is-

you have to complete your graduation in engineering fields like -
Mechanical
Electrical
Electronics
Civil

if you are from any of these four stream then you can apply for IES exam...
so, you don't worry , you will definitely able to appear in IES exam..
work hard to crack these type of exam..

Information Regarding IES Examination.

Yes, definitely you are eligible to apply for the IES examination after completing engineering degree in the mechanical branch. Indian Engineering Service (IES) exam is conducted by UPSC in every year.

To appear in IES examination you need the following eligibility criteria :

Educational Qualification = Engineering degree in any one of the following branch :
->Electronics engineering.
->Electrical engineering.
->Mechanical engineering.
->Civil engineering.

Or MSc degree or equivalent with wireless communication, electronics, radio physics, radio engineering are eligible to apply for the IES examination.

Final year engineering student are also eligible to apply for the IES examination.

Age Limit = The age must be between 21 to 30 years at the time of appearing of this examination.

The age relaxation is also applicable for the reservation category candidates according to government rule.

So, according to eligibility criteria you are eligible to apply for the IES examination.

for ies you need to have a engineering degree either from electric or electronics and communication or civil or any other such degree's. the exam is held once in a year and is conducted by UPSE

Hi, oh yes sure, you can indeed go for IES exam after mechanical engineering.Mechanical branch is one of the most coveted branches of engineering, where as IT branch people can not apply.

IES Examination Eligiblity Criteria -

And final year Engineering or equivalent degree are also eligible for IES Examination, But to apply for this examination your age should between 21 to 30 years. The Upper age relaxation is applicable for SC, ST and OBC Candidates.

The Notification of IES Examination was declared in the Month of January every year and Eligible candidates may apply for This examination Online By visit the UPSC Official website.
