Indian Engineering services exam is conducted by UPSC every year and you have to crack the exam if you want to become an engineering officer. The eligibility criteria for IES exam is as follows: -B E or B.Tech in Following Engineering Disciplines * Civil Engineering * Mechanical Engineering * Electronics and Communication Engineering * Electrical Engineering -The age should be between 21 to 30 years if you are General Category candidate. -There age relaxation available for SC/ST, OBC , PWD and Ex Servicemen. If you satisfy above criteria then you can apply for this exam. The selection will be based on performance in the written examination and personal interview. Validity of IES exam? hi friends, just now i've gone through your stuff.only engineers from 4 departments can give their IES. i.e. Electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering & Electrical and Electronics engineering.you just need to have a btech degree.they dont bother if you completed that degree in 4 years or more than that.as some stated,there's only age limit.and came to know that the paper doesn't cover maths,you can easily clear the paper if you've thorough knowledge in your sector.you can try for 2013 IES as the time exceeded for 2012 IES.al the best folks..... Hiiii...!!!! -->ies stands for indian engineering service. -->you can give this exam your b.tech or after your graduation. -->minimum age limit is 21 years. -->maximum age limit is 30 years. Students with M.Sc degree in areas like electronics, radio physics, radio engineering or wireless communication can also apply. At the most you can give the exam for four times. Selection procedure includes written test and personality test. Written test pattern:- Paper I-(objective type) Part A: general english Part B: general studies Part II & III- (objective type) civil engineering/ mechanical engineering/ electrical engineering/ electronics and telecommunication engineering. Part IV & V: (descriptive type) civil engineering/ mechanical engineering/ electrical engineering/ electronics and telecommunication engineering. Total marks for written exam is 1000 marks.  These exams are conducted for recruitment in various engineering posts in the Government departments. For example some of the post related to civil engineering are Indian Railway Service of Engineers. Central Engineering Service. Indian Defence Service of Engineers (Civil Engineering Posts). Indian Ordance Factories Services etc. These exams are conducted every year for about 560 vacancies which also includes 47 reserved PH vacancies The application procedure usually starts in March and exam is conducted in June every year. the exam consists of 2 stages - written test and a personality test In the written tests there will be 5 papers of 200 marks each. Paper 1 is of general ability and other 4 papers are concerned with the engineering subjects of the candidate. Two papers out of these will be objectivetype papers and other two will be subjective type papers. So the written test are of a total of 1000 marks. First of all the general ability test will be conducted then objective tests on the next day followed by Conventional papers on the last day. for every wrong answer in the objective paper 1/3 marks will be deducted. The personality test is actually an interview which tests the candidate's general knowledge, leadership capacity, intellectual ability, skills etc. Only those candidates are eligible to give the exam who have completed 21 years of age and are not more than 30 years of age. Also the candidate must be an engineering degree holder. The application have to be filled online using the official website of upsc-www.upsconline.nic.in |

It is a all India basis entrance conducted by IITs for get admission in M.Tech. where as IES is Indian engineering service. It is a entrance test conducted by UPSC. through IES exam you can join PSU as a executive level engineer. and validation of IES result only one year. all the best...... |
