This exam is basically conducted for the selection of candidate in Indian Air force as an officer for the various branches of Indian Air force like flying branch, technical branch and the ground duty branches. For the flying branch and the ground duty branch candidate should be graduate in any discipline from the recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks and should have physics and maths at 10+2. For the technical branch candidate should have a degree in engineering with a minimum of 60% marks and have no current back log. Those appeared in the final year examination are also eligible to apply for this examination. STUDY MATERIAL FOR AFCAT Since the AFCAT exam is based on the following topics (a) General Awareness (b) Verbal Ability in English (c) Numerical Ability (d) Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test So you can study the following books for the preparation on above topics

Re: Study material and good books to prepare for AFCAT Exam? AFCAT i.e Air Force Common Admission Test In Brief !! Eligibility Its a common Entrance test for Flying Branch, Technical Branch, Ground Duty officer You need to be 60% aggregate in all your Years in graduation. Quote:
Syllabus Consists of Reasoning, Verbal ability, General Awareness , Numerical ability & General Aptitude. Exam will be of 2 hrs Duration with Objective questions. For preparations:- Books you should refer R S Agarwal quantitative aptitude, For Gk. Go for manorama, Composition success Review magazine. General Awareness Go Books for IAS. |

Re: Study material and good books to prepare for AFCAT Exam? there is no a particular book for this exam, for apptitude test you prefer R S AGGRAWAL. and for general knowledge you may go to ias level books. main mathmatics is used at the 10th standard. so don't worry just prepare yourself. |

1.English 2.General knowledge 3.Reasoning 4.Maths You can buy any competitive exam book like for CDS,SSC and other UPSC exams, it will be sufficient to prepare for AFCAT. Don't worry with a little practice you can make it. Remember clearing the SSB is the toughest task. Best of luck. Feel free to ask if doubts remain. |
