Re: Can I appear for IAS from anywhere? any town? Upsc is a central government exam and is conducted for all India posts. But the exam centre is not available in every city of the state. Every state covered but not every city is covered in prelims and even less number of cities are covered for mains . The final stage the interview is held only at Delhi |

Date of Notification: generally in month of February every year Last date of Submission of Application Form: March Date of Exam: Probably in June of every year. GOOD LUCK.......... |

for giving ias exam, the student must have done graduation in any field with at least 60% marks. the age limit for the exam is 21 to 30 years which can increase to 35 years for sc/st students. if you are having these qualifications, then only you can give the exam. there will be three rounds in the exam. firstly, you will have to give the preliminary exam. this exam will be of objective questions. after qualifying in that exam, you will have to give the main exam, which will be in written form. after passing both the exams, you will be called for the personal interview. after passing that interview, you will become an ias officer. the notification regarding the exam comes in the employment news. for more details regarding the exam, you can visit www.upsc.gov.in |

They will be conducting exam in main cities in each state,so choose the exam center from given center,which you will be comfortable to travel for the exam. The selection procedure will be by -CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test) -Civil Services Main Examination -Interview. In order to be eligible for IAS exam, one should have completed his graduation from a recognized university. One should be in the age group of 21-30 years. Relaxation in upper age limit is there for the candidates of OBC upto 3 years Relaxation in upper age limit for the candidates of SC/ST upto 5 years For the academic year 2011, IAS exam is going to be conducted on 12-06-2011. Yes, you can appear for the exam from anywhere you wanted. |

Yes you can appear but all the details must be filled before only i.e. your temporary address and permanent address must be filled in the form which you are submitting and once the center alloted to you cannot be changed except in rear cases but without all these tensions if you appear in IAS exam from your home town only it will be fair i think anyways i hope your doubt got cleared and the basic info related to IAS is IAS is an central service and also deeply regarded as the most prestigious job.. Like this service there are other 24 services for which a common entrance test is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) The main basic eligibility criteria for Civils Service Examination ->Candidate must have 21 years of age ->Candidate must complete at least degree from a recognized Indian University this is all about the basic eligibility criteria of CSE As per your qualification if you have completed Degree then definitely you are eligible for the exam.. First you need to know where is your home town,there are various centres provided by the upsc.If one of the centres is your hometown,then you can write from your hometown. Eligibility: 1. First you should be an Indian national. 2.a subject of nepal 3. a subject of bhutan and a candidate must have attained 21 years of age and not over 30. the exam for pre. is on 12.6.2011 so if you want to apply the notification comes on 19th feb. The last date for application is 21st march 2011. All the best!! |
