A general candidate can attempt Four times only.Where as Seven attempts of OBCs. And no limit for SCs/STs.

You can refer to syllabus and prepare previous year question papers..

It consits of two paper and each paper of Two hrs..


(Paper 1) (200 marks) consists of

Current events.
History
Geography
Indian Polity and governance
Economic and social developmentFor general category the age should be in between 21-30years..
For SC/ST the age relaxation is of 5years..
For OBC the age relaxation is of 3years..

These are the age criteria to appear in UPSC exam..

For general category the age should be in between 21-30years..
For SC/ST the age relaxation is of 5years..

Age- 21 to 30 years
5 year relaxation for SC/ST candidate
3 years for OBC candidate

but question pattern is:-
Aptitude
reasoning
General knowledge
General english

Age limit for UPSC exam is 21-30 year.

Upper age limit is also available for different cetagory student student as -

5 year age relaxation for SC/ST student.

3 year age relaxation for OBC student.

If you are between these age limit you can apply for UPSC exam.

UPSC conducts various entrance exam for graduate student.notification for all exam released on the website of UPSC you have to visit website of UPSC for notification-

All study material are provided on the website of UPSC you can download from there.

Candidate must have between 21 years to 30 years, on August 1 of the year of examination.
[Upper age relixion for SC/ST:5 years.and for OBC:3 years].

A general candidate can attempt Four times only.Where for OBC candidate 7 times and no limit for SCs/ST.

It consits of two paper and each paper of Two hrs.

Paper 1200 marks)[objective type and qualifying exam]

*Current events.

*History

*Geography

*Indian Polity and governance

*Economic and social development

*General science.

Paper II200 marks)[subjective type and followed by interview]

*Comprehension

*Logical reasoning and analytical ability

*Decision making and problem solving

*General mental ability

*Basic numeracy(Class X level)

*English language comprehension skills (Class X level)

Age limit for civil service exam is:

General category:
candidate must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination.

SC/ST:
up to a maximum of 5 years.

OBC:

Dear friend ,

The Age requirement for appearing for the Civil Services Preliminary Examination is-

21 - 30 years.

There are only 4 attempts for general candidates.

For General studies the book named “Competition Success Review” is very helpful.

Can you please advise the UPSC Age limit for open catogory and the study materials to refer for its preparation.
As i am a working professional ,i wont be able to join up clases and therefore would request you if you can advise the study materials that should be referred to crack the exams.
