VAO stands for Village Administrative Officers. For the recruitment of these officers an examination is conducted by the Tamilnadu Public Service Commission and the post of VAO is of a district cadre so every year the notification that comes is also district wise.

Tentative Dates:-

1. Date of Notification: 1st Week of July
2. Application Date: 1st week of August
3. Last Date for Form Submission: 2nd week of August
4. Exam Date: Last Week of September

For VAO exam you need to have passed SSLC Public examination or its equivalent and should be eligible for admission to Higher secondary courses of studies. Apart from that Tamil knowledge is also very important. You need to have proficiency in this language.

Age Criteria:- 21-30 years.

As far as the selection procedure is concerned it is very simple. It purely depends on the written examination and also on the districts chosen by you. In the written exam there is a qualifying marks which you need to guarantee.

The written exam consists of two papers:- General Knowledge and General Tamil/General English. For each paper 300 marks have been allotted. The minimum qualifying marks for this exam is 90 out of 300.
