IIT stands for Indian Institute of Technology, NIT stands for National Institute of Technology and IIIT stands for Indian Institute of Information Technology. All these institutes are Central government aided engineering college and are known for their quality education.

To get admission in these colleges one has to crack the Joint Entrance Examination conducted by CBSE once every year.

JEE is held in two stages. First stage is known as JEE Mains where as Stage second is called as JEE Advance. One can get admitted in the NIT by qualifying the JEE Mains with good marks only along with high percentage in the board examination as there is the weightage of board aggregate in the merit list.

But to get admission in the IIT or IIIT one has to clear the both stage along with good marks in the 12th board so that they lasts in top 20 percentile students of their respective board on the basis of their marks in their 12th board examination.

Also to appear in this examination one needs to have a senior secondary degree with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects with at least 50% aggregate in each from a recognized board of education. Also their age must be within 17 years to 25 years till the final date of year in which they are appearing for the same examination.

For information regarding JEE log on to the official link i.e; www.cbse.nic.in.
