Is CA with BCom (through correspondence) good enough to get into IIM?

My son who is now in XII wants to pursue CA through the CPT route and will do B Com by Correspondence (Madras University).
He wants to get into one of the IIMs after his CA
Want to know if CA or the B Com through correspondence will be considered good enough for getting into any of the IIM?

Yes, you can apply for the Common Admission Test which is the entrance exam or you can say the gateway for the Indian Institute of Management for pursuing MBA programme.

But make sure that the institute from which your son will do bachelor's degree in commerce in correspondence mode must be approved by the distance education council. The minimum percentage of marks required to appear for the CAT exam in bachelor's degree is 50%.

You can get him admitted in institutes like TIME for better preparation of CAT examination.

IIMs are one of the best institutes for studying the management course. Every one tries to get the admission in good and reputed organizations.

For getting the admission in IIMs for the MBA course one has to clear the entrance exam which is conducted by the IIMs itself known as CAT.

Cat is common admission test. The basic eligibility criteria for this test is to have a bachelor degree course in any stream from a recognised university with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. The final year aspirant of bachelor degree course are also eligible for this exam.
