The first step you need to do is complete your graduation. Also your age should be over 21 years and not more than 30 years. You need to prepare for the two levels of the exam. The first is the CSAT exam which is basically an aptitude oriented test. If you are able to clear this level then you will need to clear the mains exam next. You can select any of the subjects mentioned in the UPSC site for the same. You can download the past papers to know the pattern of exam.

If your aim is to become IPS Officer In Future then you have to cracked the UPSC Civil Services Examination.

IPS stands for Indian Police Service .IPS is civil service exam conducted by UPSC every year .For IPS a candidate should be graduate .
Eligibility criteria for IPS entrance exam are as follows :-
1]A candidate should be graduate from any stream from recognized university.
2] A candidate should be passed his graduation with minimum 50 % .
3]A candidate should be citizen of India .
4]Age limit between 21 to 30 years for open category.
5] For OBC candidate age relaxation is of 3 years .
6]For SC/ST candidate age relaxation is of 5 years .
7]A candidate should be citizen of India.

IPS exam is conducted by UPSC. There are some criteria you have to follow for appearing in IPS exam.

Those candiadte have completed graduation in any discipline from recognized university are eligible for IPS exam.

But your age should be in between 21-30years for general candidate.
In IPS exam their is provide age relaxation for OBC candiadte is 3years and for SC/ST candiadte is 5 years.

Also you must be citizen of india.

The minimum qualification for becoming an IPS officer is-
* You should be a graduate in any discipline from a recognised university.
* You should be minimum 21 years of age.
* The upper age limit is-
General - 30 years
SC/ST - 35 years
OBC - 33 years

If you fullfil above criteria you can become IPS officer.
For this you will have to give civil services exam.
Firstly there is CSAT and then main exam then interview.

To become in to IPS officer,You have to appear for Civil Service Exams.
The Civil Service Exams are conducted by Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) in every year.

Eligibility Criteria for IPS:-

**Educational qualification is Graduation in any stream from any recognized university.
**There is NO minimum percentage is required.

Age limit:-

**for general 21 to 30years.
**for BC 21 to 33years.
**for Sc/st 21 to 35years.

Number of Attempts:-

**for general 4 times
**for BC 7times
**for Sc/st no limit

Selection Process:-

**Prelims exam
**Mains exam
**Interview

Physical standards:-

**Height is 157.5cms
**Chest is 84cms.

To become an IPS(Indian Police Service) officer one has to crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC once every year bu applying and appearing the examination.

The eligible candidate aspiring for IPS Civil Service Exam, must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream of education from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate with good Physical Fitness.

Apart from this the candidate should maintain the minimum Physical requirements such as:-

HEIGHT:- General Male-165cm and Female-150cm whikle SC/ST Male-160cm and Female-145cm.

CHEST:- Male-85cm while Female-79cm expandable to 5cm in both the cases.

The civil Service exam can be applied through both off line and on line mode by paying requisite fee for the exam.

The selection is through three phases:-

-CSAT - Civil Service Aptitude Test - Preliminary Exam comprises of objective type questions.

-Civil Service Main Exam comprises of subjective type questions from prescribed syllabus.

-Personal Interview
