A candidate who wishes to join Merchant Navy as Deck cadet has to possess Bachelor's degree in Nautical Science. It is a three year duration course. There are total six semesters in Nautical Science (B. Sc) Degree Course. The fee is around Rs. 7,50,000 for the three year course divided into Rs. 2,50,000 per year.

Eligibility criteria to become a Deck Cadet are as under :-

-The candidate should have passed 10+2 in Physics,Chemistry and Mathematics group of subjects with at least 60 % marks from a recognized board .

-The candidate age limit should be in between 21 to 24 years .

-The candidate should be physically and mentally fit as per the norms of the navy .

Physical requirements :-

Height : 167 cm

Weight : 50 kg

Chest : 77 cm without expansion and 82 cm with expansion

Eye- sight : 6/6 without color blindness
