Previous year questions papers of VAO Exam

VAO which stands for Village Administrative officer is a exam conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission

If you have 12th standard OR graduation degree then you are applicable for VAO exam but you age should be in between 21 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide as per govt rule But you must know the Tamil language.

VAO Exam Eligibility Criteria:-

## VAO stands for Village Administrative Officers. To recruit these officers and examination is conducted by the Tamilnadu Public Service Commission whenever there is a vacancy for the same. This year the vacancy for this post is as high as 1870. The notifications is published in two parts: One for the SC/ST candidates and the other one for the rest of the categories.

=> Educational Qualification: To give this exam you need a secondary school leaving certificate. In short you need to be a 10th pass out.
Even if you have higher qualifications that will be considered only when you have this certificate to show.

=> Age Limit: Your age should not be less than 18 years when applying for this exam since that is the minimum age limit for giving this exam. This rule is binding on all categories. The upper age limit for general category candidates is 30 years.

There is age relaxation for the reserved category candidates. For SC/ST and other such candidates the upper age limit is 40 years.

=> Other Important Criteria:

• You need to be well versed in Tamil language because you will be posted in the villages of Tamilandu. You can give the exam if you dont know this language but in that case you have to sit for Tamil language exam which is also conducted by TNPSC and pass in it.
  
• It is expected that only physically fit candidates will sit for the exam. Therefore to prove your medical fitness you need to show the authorities concerned medical certificates during exam time.

=> Selection Procedure:

• The selection procedure is primarily dependent on the written examination and therefore your target should be to score as many marks as possible to stay in contention. Higher the marks, more will be your chances of making it to the next level of selection.
  
• Other factors which are also taken into consideration for the exam is the district chosen by you and the number of reservations of the district in question.

=> Scheme Of Examination:

• For the exam you need to stress on the following sections: General Knowledge and General Tamil/General English. The first paper is bilingual and the second paper is optional. Your preference needs to be stated in the application form itself.
  
• 150 marks each has been allotted for each paper and you will get three hours to complete the whole paper. You need to get 90/300 to qualify for this exam.
• Questions will be of S.S.L.C. standard

=> Cost Of Application Forms:

For general category candidates the cost of the application form is Rs. 125 and for the reserved category candidates it is Rs. 50.
